How can I change (upgrade or downgrade) my subscription?

Users have the flexibility to change their subscription at any time on various platforms, including Roku, mobile apps (Android and iOS) and the Disc Golf Network website (discgolfnetwork.com). You can choose between tiers (DGN Basic, DGN Standard, DGN Pro) and durations (monthly, yearly).

Note: if you initially purchased your subscription through the DGN website, upgrades or downgrades must also be performed via the website. The same applies to other platforms.

Note: DGN is currently waiting on the approval of an updated Roku TV application that will support upgrading and downgrading subscriptions.

Remember: You can only switch your subscription to a discounted plan for PDGA members at discgolfnetwork.com and if your original subscription was purchased directly through the DGN website, not via any of the other apps.

Downgrade:

Downgrading is a process in which you select a new plan offering a lower level of service than your current subscription. It applies to subscription plans of the same duration and the change takes effect from the next billing period. An email notification will be sent to you when the downgrade is initiated.

Example: If you switch from DGN Yearly Pro to DGN Yearly Standard, your new plan won’t begin until the next renewal date of your Pro plan and you won’t be charged before then.

If you downgrade within the same plan duration, the change takes effect when your original subscription expires and you are charged the new price at the next renewal date. You can only make one downgrade per billing cycle.

The change takes effect at the next renewal date of your original subscription and that’s when the new plan starts and you are charged the new price in full.

If you downgrade within the same plan duration, the change takes effect when your original subscription expires and you are charged the new price at the next renewal date.

Upgrade:

Upgrading is a seamless process in which you select a plan offering a higher level of service than your current subscription. This process has immediate effects and applies to subscription plans of the same duration. Your new subscription becomes active directly after the payment is complete. An email notification will be sent to you upon completing the upgrade.

When you upgrade in the middle of a billing cycle, you will only pay the difference in cost between your old subscription plan and your new subscription plan, prorated by the amount of time left in your current billing cycle. Then, you'll see a full charge for your new subscription plan on your next billing date. There’s no limit on how many times you can upgrade your subscription during a single billing cycle.

When you select a new plan in the middle of a billing cycle, you receive a refund of the prorated amount of your original subscription and we charge you the full price for your new plan.

The subscription is upgraded immediately, and the billing cycle remains the same. You are charged the price difference for the remaining period.

Crossgrade:

Crossgrading applies to subscription plans with different durations and you can choose between plans offering the same, higher, or lower level of service. The change takes effect from the next renewal date or immediately depending on the platform.

If you change your plan to one with a different duration (yearly to monthly, monthly to yearly), your new plan starts immediately. In case of plan changes from yearly to monthly an overpayment is added to your balance in the DGN’s billing system which will be used towards future payments. This overpayment is non-refundable and non-transferable, and can only be used to pay for future DGN subscription charges. When you switch from a monthly to a yearly plan, you will only pay the difference in cost between your old subscription plan and your new subscription plan, prorated by the amount of time left in your current billing cycle. Then, you'll see a full charge for your new subscription plan on your next billing date.

If you change to a plan offering a higher level of service than your current subscription, you receive a refund of the prorated amount of your original subscription and we charge you the full price for your new plan. If you choose a plan that offers a lower or equivalent level of service, the change takes effect at the next renewal date of your original subscription and that’s when the new plan starts and you are charged the new price.

The change of the plan takes effect immediately. Your original subscription ends and any unused funds are credited towards your new subscription. The charge is made when you use credits remaining from your original plan.

Example: If you have a $12.99 DGN Standard Monthly subscription and you switch to a $129.99 DGN Standard Yearly plan halfway through your current billing period, the balance remaining from the Standard plan ($6.50) will be used to pay for the new yearly plan fees. Because the new plan is more expensive, $6.50 only pays for 18 days of the new plan. After 18 days you will be charged $129.99 for the new billing period, and then $129.99 on the same date each year following.
