I can’t watch on my Fire TV

If you’re experiencing issues with watching the Disc Golf Network content on your Fire TV device, such as:

  • content is locked or missing

  • when attempting to connect you are presented with a 4-character code consisting of numbers and letters, instead of a 6-digit code

  • you are directed to a non-existing “activation” page

it may be because you still have the old version of the app installed. The most recent version is 9.1.5.2024041601.

To update the app, take the following steps:

  1. On you Fire TV’s home screen select Applications apps fire tv.png (the three squares with a plus icon).

  2. Use your remote to highlight the app you want to update (but don’t select it).

  3. Press the Menu button menu fire tv.png on your remote (the one with three horizontal lines).

  4. Select More Info.

  5. If an update is available, an Update option displays.

Note: You can also try deleting the app (select Uninstall instead of More Info) and installing it again from the Appstore.

  1. Search for an app by going to Find on the home screen. You can also use the Alexa alexa fire.png or microphone microphone fire.png button on your remote.

  2. Select the app that you want to download.

  3. To download the app, select the get get fire.png or the shopping cart cart fire.png icon.

    1. You may need to verify your Amazon account when making Appstore purchases.

If there is no update available for the DGN app or you can’t find the new app in the Appstore, try updating the OS of your Fire TV device:

  1. On your Fire TV’s home screen go to Settings wheel.png (the gear icon).

  2. Select My Fire TV or Device & Software.

  3. Select About.

  4. Select Check for System Update.

Note: The new DGN app requires at least Fire OS 7 to run. If your device can’t be updated past version 6, you will not be able to use the DGN app on it. The outdated app will let you log in, but not watch.

If you have trouble identifying your device, because you are presented with a build model code, e.g. AFTKA, AFTKM, you can identify your device on this page: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-tv/identify-amazon-fire-tv-devices.html.

Once you identify your device you can also check:
