Supported platforms & Requirements

The Disc Golf Network App can be used on a variety of PCs, mobile phones, tablets, and connected devices (including smart TVs). For a complete list, including minimum system requirements, see below. 

For the best app experience, please ensure you're on the latest operating system (“OS”)  for your device and the latest browser version if on PC to access the latest features and functionality. If you are having issues viewing content, please reach out to us with your device details and a description of the issue. 

What Happens If I Try To Use the DGN App On an Unsupported Device or Operating System? 

The newly upgraded Disc Golf Network app allows for improved streaming quality and new features, but the app is not supported on older devices or operating systems. 

If you are trying to use the new DGN app on a device that is unable to install the minimum required operating system, you may see the following errors. 

1. You may be unable to initiate a live broadcast viewing session or playback of a previously uploaded video. 

2. You may see a large gap between the video and the audio when watching. 

3. You may have other playback issues. 

This happens because devices or older iterations of the operating system will not support the upgraded streaming quality that is new to DGN this year. Thus, the Network does not support viewing on certain older devices that are unable to install the required operating system for the app to function properly. 

If you have a device that no longer supports the current DGN app, you will need to watch via a different device. Remember that you can cast any DGN content from your phone or browser as long as your TV supports direct casting. → More on casting to your TV.

  • Requires iOS 12.0 or later.

  • Fairplay DRM support required.

• Android mobile

  • Requires OS 11.0 or later.

• Amazon Fire TV (Fire OS 7+)

  • Refer to these Fire TV Device Specifications to check which OS version your device shipped with.

• Roku TV (OS 10.0+) 

• Apple TV (TV OS 17.3+)

• Samsung Smart TV [based on Tizen OS] (OS 5.0+)

  • Generally, TVs from the model years 2019-2024 are supported. More information about the platform → Tizen .

• LG Smart TV [based on WebOS] (WebOS 5.0.0+)

• Android Smart TV (Android OS 8+)

  • Minimum OS requirements: Android 8 or later.

• Android TV Set-Top Boxes

  • Set-top box has to be based on official Android TV (excluding AOSP boxes. More information →  Android Open Source Project).

  • Recommended minimum 2GB RAM to work properly. The app might work with 1GB RAM, but it will work slowly.

  • Requires Widevine DRM to work.
